The Chestnut Ridge Premier Facility Healthcare Mattress with Fire-Resistant, Fluid-Resistant, Vandal Resistant Vinyl Cover is intended for health care applications including behavioral, psychiatric, long term care, and home health care while targeting the cost conscious end user. It s designed for superb comfort, excellent durability, and fire-resistance, with a unique cover design to best avoid contamination and is reversible.
Interior: The inner core shall be 1.8 lbs./ft.3 lbs. F.R. polyurethane per California Technical Bulletin No. 117. Firmness of F.R. polyurethane shall be dependent upon the completed mattress thickness. A minimum thickness CR SAFGUARD polychloroprene compound cushioning shall completely encapsulate the polyurethane by utilizing a neoprene water based adhesive. The CR Safguard high density polychloroprene fire-resistant shall be used to ensure compliance beyond the minimum requirements of applicable full scale mattress flammability standards and also to enhance support, integrity, and longevity of the mattress. The CR SAFGUARD fire-resistant cushioning must comply with the following physical and fire performance properties listed below. Test reports from an independent laboratory may be required upon request to ensure compliance.
Covering: Covering material shall be minimum 15.1 ounce per square yard, vandal resistant, fluid-resistant, and fire retardant heavy duty vinyl ticking. Construction of the cover shall not include the use of any taped edges so as to avoid potential contamination. Cover shall be a four-corner box construction with two-inverted and centered side seams and one inverted and centered end seam. Cover to have one end closure seam located on the bottom and extending the full width of the mattress. The closure seam shall be sealed with CVV adhesive. Mattresses must be able to be recovered. Replacement mattress covers must be available and constructed in a clamshell fashion using a zipper or Velcro closure depending on the facility s preference in closures. Mattress shall utilize Federal Standard 751, stitch type 301, with a single lock stitch and nylon thread. Sewing shall consist of 8-10 stitches per inch on seam.
